Over 60% of Kerala's MLAs face criminal charges, with most having assets over ₹1 crore.
Nearly 70% of Kerala’s sitting MLAs have declared pending criminal cases, with 92 facing charges including murder, attempt to murder, and crimes against women, according to a report by ADR and Kerala Election Watch.
Over half, 72 MLAs, reported assets exceeding Rs 1 crore, totaling Rs 363.78 crore, with the richest MLA having over Rs 34 crore and the poorest declaring around Rs 9.9 lakh.
The Indian National Congress, CPI(M), and IUML had high rates of MLAs with cases.
Most MLAs are aged 51 to 80, 61% are graduates or higher, and only 11 women serve as MLAs.
