A new musical titled *It’s a Good Life If You Don’t Weaken*, featuring songs by The Tragically Hip, will premiere at Kingston’s Grand Theatre from October 22 to November 8, 2026, in a 21-show run.
Originally about an immigrant family in Toronto’s Kensington Market, the story was reworked to follow an exiled Iraqi journalist who moves to a small Canadian town in 2002 and connects with a local music store owner.

The production, developed by Michael Rubinoff, David and Hannah Mirvish, and playwrights Ahmed Moneka and Jesse LaVercombe, explores themes of community, resilience, and belonging.
Tickets go on sale March 31, and the run coincides with the 10th anniversary of the band’s final performance.
