Jason Souder, 52, of Cedartown, Georgia, was arrested in DeKalb County after a high-speed chase exceeding 100 mph on March 17, 2026.
Authorities attempted to stop his Chevrolet Silverado in Fort Payne, but Souder fled, leading police on a pursuit through multiple roads before fleeing on foot and being captured in a wooded area.
His vehicle contained methamphetamine, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and a recently stolen handgun.
Souder, who had outstanding warrants in Georgia and Alabama, was booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center on charges including possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
A female passenger was hospitalized, and additional charges are expected.
