Delhi High Court orders quick review of K Kavitha’s party registration ahead of Telangana’s April local elections.
The Delhi High Court has ordered the Election Commission of India to promptly review and decide on former BRS leader K Kavitha’s application to register her party, Telangana Praja Jagruti, without undue delay.
The court emphasized the urgency due to upcoming local body elections in Telangana, expected in mid-April, and directed the ECI to act swiftly despite not setting a strict deadline.
Kavitha, who was suspended from her party in September 2025 and later resigned, submitted her application on January 23 and addressed all deficiencies by February 23.
The ECI confirmed it will process the application as soon as possible.
