Daniel Tomassetti, 35, accused in the 2017 mob-related killings of Angelo Musitano and Mila Barberi in Hamilton and Vaughan, Ontario, was arrested in Mexico in August 2025 after nearly nine years on the run.
He faces two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder, and three counts of conspiracy to commit murder.
Tomassetti is contesting extradition to Canada, where authorities are working to bring him back.
The other two suspects, Michael Cudmore and Jabril Abdalla, died and pleaded guilty respectively.
