The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Dan Leibovitz as its new commissioner, effective May 4, succeeding retiring commissioner Bernadette McGlade.
Leibovitz, 52, brings decades of experience in college basketball, most recently as senior associate commissioner for men’s basketball at the Big East, and previously held leadership roles in the SEC and American Athletic Conference.
He began his career as an assistant under John Chaney at Temple, a founding member of the A-10, and served as head coach at Hartford and assistant at Penn and the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats.
The conference’s leadership praised his deep commitment to student-athletes, innovation, and passion for college athletics.
Leibovitz expressed honor in returning to the A-10, a conference known for its basketball legacy and national prominence.
The Atlantic 10, based in Washington, D.C., is a non-football conference with 14 schools competing in 22 sports.
