A Cork jury decides if Adam Corcoran murdered his partner in a 2024 fire, despite his claim of no memory and belief she died by suicide.
A jury in Cork is deciding whether Adam Corcoran, who admitted killing his partner Daena Walsh in a 2024 apartment fire, committed murder or manslaughter.
Walsh, 27, died from multiple stab wounds and a partially amputated arm, with the prosecution arguing Corcoran acted with intent despite his intoxication from alcohol, cocaine, and prescription drugs.
Corcoran claimed he believed she killed herself and had no memory of the events, later recalling them after months.
The judge instructed the jury that only murder or manslaughter verdicts are possible, as a "not guilty" on murder is not an option due to his admission.
The jury, which has already deliberated over an hour, will resume on Thursday.
