Two West Liberty students advance to NATS national auditions after winning regional titles in singing.
Two West Liberty University music students, Chase Burdick and Mason Stoll, have advanced to the NATS National Student Auditions after winning top spots at the Eastern Regional competition.
Burdick, a junior music education major from Wheeling, took first place in Contemporary Commercial Music with “If I Can Dream,” while Stoll, also a junior from Steubenville, earned second in Musical Theatre with “Heaven’s Light.” They will compete in the national event in San Antonio, Texas, from July 3 to 7, beginning with online auditions and culminating in in-person semifinals.
The regional contest featured students from top schools across the Northeast.
Dr. Linda Cowan, a West Liberty voice professor, commended their talent and dedication.
NATS, the world’s largest organization for voice teachers, hosts the annual competition to highlight emerging vocal talent.
