PlayStation 5 players in Highguard get refunds after game’s March 12 shutdown.
PlayStation 5 players of the shuttered PvP shooter Highguard are receiving automatic refunds for in-game purchases following the game’s March 12, 2026, server shutdown.
Sony confirmed the refunds via email, returning funds spent on battle passes and microtransactions, though eligibility remains unclear.
The game, developed by Wildlight Entertainment and backed by Tencent’s TiMi Studio Group, launched January 26 with over two million players but quickly declined due to poor retention, complex gameplay, and lack of accessibility.
The studio has since gone inactive, with its website and social media removed.
Refunds are currently only confirmed for PlayStation users, not Steam or Xbox.
The move marks a rare platform-led goodwill gesture after a live-service title’s abrupt closure.
