Over 80,000 gratitude notes from Niagara’s 2021 vaccine clinics were turned into heart-shaped art honoring frontline workers and community resilience.
Over 80,000 sticky notes of gratitude and hope from Niagara’s 2021 mass vaccination clinics have been transformed into three heart-shaped art installations at Niagara Health hospitals.
Created by Brock University’s Donna Szoke, the tactile artworks, featuring the hashtag #NHappreciation, were unveiled on March 11, the National Day of Observance for COVID-19, and now stand in high-traffic areas to honor frontline workers, patients, and community resilience.
The project, inspired by late communications specialist Steven Gallagher, preserves personal messages of relief and unity from a pandemic-stricken region.
