Ireland to spend €480K on hairdressing training for female inmates to improve job prospects post-release.
Ireland’s prison service will spend 480,000 euros over four years to offer a hairdressing training program to female inmates at the Dóchas Centre in Dublin, aiming to boost post-release employment.
The program, launching after a March 13 tender, will deliver four 10-week courses annually, training at least 28 women yearly in salon support, styling, coloring, and job-seeking skills, leading to a City & Guilds certification.
Providers must have four years of commercial experience.
The prison, operating at 149% capacity, will supply all materials.
Tenders close April 16.
