A former New Zealand health official pleaded guilty to taking over $258,000 in bribes from medical companies while working for a health board.
Garry Gorham, a former senior health official in New Zealand, has pleaded guilty to corruption charges for accepting over $258,000 in payments from medical equipment and software companies while working for the Auckland District Health Board.
He admitted to three counts of accepting gifts and one count of disclosing official information between 2012 and 2014, failing to report the payments despite a legal duty to do so.
The Serious Fraud Office said the actions undermined public trust, distorted procurement, and risked patient safety.
Gorham is set to be sentenced on August 10, 2026.
