Five teens, one missing, in car plunge into River Nene near Wisbech; search ongoing.

A car carrying five teenagers, aged 16 to 18, plunged into the River Nene near Wisbech on Tuesday evening, March 17, 2026, after veering off North Brink. Three teens escaped and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Two others, a male and a female, remain missing, and search efforts continue with police divers and fire crews from multiple stations. North Brink remains closed, and Cambridgeshire Police are urging witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to contact them using incident reference 515 of 17 March. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
