Equinor has discovered oil in the Polynya Tubåen prospect in the Barents Sea, estimating 14 to 24 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalents.
The find, drilled by the COSL Prospector rig, adds to the Johan Castberg field, which began production in March 2025 and holds initial reserves of 500–700 million barrels.
