A Chicago man was charged with attempted murder after shooting a woman and a police sergeant in back-to-back incidents on Saturday night.
A 26-year-old Chicago man, Treavor Taylor, has been charged with multiple felonies, including two counts of attempted murder, after allegedly shooting a 63-year-old woman in the leg and then injuring a police sergeant in a separate incident on the city’s Far South Side on Saturday night.
The shootings occurred minutes apart near South Indiana Avenue and South Corliss Avenue, with Taylor arrested shortly afterward in the area.
The woman and sergeant were hospitalized, both in fair to good condition.
Taylor faces eight felony charges, including aggravated battery of a peace officer and reckless discharge of a firearm.
A detention hearing is set for Tuesday, and authorities have not disclosed a motive.
