Bentley Motors is cutting up to 275 jobs—primarily in management, agency, and office roles—as part of a restructuring to boost competitiveness amid a 42% drop in annual operating profits to 216 million euros.
The company cited higher costs from parent company Volkswagen’s changes and a 42 million euro impact from U.S. tariffs as key factors.
Of the cuts, 150 are potential redundancies under consultation over the next four to six weeks, while 125 will result from not replacing temporary staff, turnover, or unfilled positions.
Manufacturing jobs at the Crewe factory are unaffected.
The changes are expected to be completed by year-end, with Bentley pledging support for affected employees.
The GMB union expressed shock, blaming tariffs and pandemic aftermath, and vowed to push for minimal job losses and fair severance.
