The Ara Jobs and Skills Hub at Auckland Airport is marking its 10th anniversary, having supported over 1,700 young people and provided training to 3,600 learners.
Backed by the Ministry of Social Development, it has helped coordinate recruitment and training for about 800 businesses employing roughly 25,000 workers across aviation, logistics, construction, tourism, retail, hospitality, and accommodation.
Minister Louise Upston highlighted the hub’s role in workforce planning and its contribution to the government’s goal of reducing Jobseeker Support recipients by 50,000 by 2030, underscoring sustained investment in training as key to economic recovery and long-term prosperity.
