Steve Fabriczy admitted to a 1998 murder in a 2026 trial, citing a $12,000 payment and DNA evidence, though he claims he didn’t know the victim died.
In a 2026 ACT Supreme Court trial, Steve Fabriczy, 70, admitted to participating in a 1998 home invasion during which 72-year-old Irma Palasics was murdered, according to a hidden-camera recording from a 2023 undercover operation.
Fabriczy told an undercover officer, posing as a crime syndicate leader, he went “up for the money, not for murder” and was paid $12,000, though he denied knowing Palasics had died.
DNA from the crime scene linked him to the case, and prosecutors argue he was involved.
Fabriczy claims he was framed, cites an alibi, and says he only acted as a lookout during a 1999 burglary.
The evidence is only for use against him; Vekony, also accused, is not subject to it.
The trial continues.
