Singer Lulu called Jimmy Savile "weird" and "ridiculous," saying she avoided him due to discomfort, despite their shared BBC work.
Scottish singer Lulu, 77, has said on Louis Theroux’s podcast that she found disgraced entertainer Jimmy Savile “weird” and “ridiculous” despite his fame in the 1960s and 70s, where she often encountered him on BBC shows like Top of the Pops.
She recalled feeling uncomfortable around him but had no personal issues, attributing her caution to a difficult childhood and strict upbringing that emphasized discretion.
Lulu credited her longtime manager, Marion Massey, for her protection and stated Savile “had nothing to do with me.” Savile, who died in 2011, was later revealed to have abused hundreds of people, though he was never prosecuted.
