Pakistan's Salman Ali Agha was correctly dismissed for obstructing the field after a collision with a fielder during a March 13, 2026, ODI against Bangladesh, the MCC confirmed.
The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has confirmed that Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha was correctly dismissed in the second ODI against Bangladesh on March 13, 2026, after a collision with fielder Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
The MCC ruled the ball remained in play, Agha was out of his ground when the stumps were broken, and handling the ball without consent risks an obstructing the field penalty.
Despite Agha’s attempt to return the ball, the dismissal stood, and the MCC rejected claims the incident should have ended play, noting no injury and the fielder’s intent to continue.
The ruling was lawful under current laws, and even upcoming dead-ball changes would not have altered the outcome.
The MCC acknowledged Bangladesh could have withdrawn the appeal to uphold sportsmanship.
