Over 6,000 ambulance paramedics and dispatchers in British Columbia have ratified a new collective agreement with the provincial government, with more than 80% voting in favor, avoiding a potential strike authorized by 97% of members earlier.
The deal, reached after months of negotiations, includes enhanced mental health supports, improved evening and weekend pay, and additional training funding to advance paramedics.
It takes effect immediately with retroactive payments processed.
