Leqaa Kordia, a 33-year-old West Bank native who lived in New Jersey since 2016, was released on March 16, 2026, from a Texas immigration detention center, marking the end of the Trump administration’s 2025 crackdown on pro-Palestinian campus protests.
She had been detained since March 2025 after participating in a 2024 Columbia University protest linked to the Gaza war, where she lost relatives.
