A Las Vegas nonprofit launches "The Lost Music of Perú," reviving 300-year-old Peruvian sacred music for a Los Angeles concert to mark 200 years of U.S.-Perú relations.
The Guardians of Culture & Arts Foundation (GOCA), a new Las Vegas nonprofit, has launched an international effort to revive endangered cultural heritage, beginning with sacred music from 300-year-old Peruvian archives.
The initiative, "The Lost Music of Perú," features rediscovered compositions blending European, Indigenous, and African influences, to be performed in a concert at Los Angeles’s Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.
The event, part of the 200th anniversary of U.S.-Perú diplomatic relations, includes orchestras, choirs, and global streaming.
Proceeds support music education, language preservation, and community arts programs.
GOCA emphasizes that cultural identity thrives through living traditions, not static artifacts, and invites public support to ensure these voices endure.
