A Georgia man accused of targeting athletes with fake identities and sex trafficking was charged federally and denied bail.
Kwamaine Jerell Ford, a 34-year-old Buford, Georgia man, faces federal charges including wire fraud, computer fraud, identity theft, and sex trafficking for allegedly targeting NFL and NBA athletes while serving time in prison.
Prosecutors say he used fake identities—posing as an adult film star and Apple support—to steal login credentials and make over 2,000 unauthorized transactions.
He is also accused of coercing a woman into commercial sex acts with athletes, filming them without consent, and profiting from the scheme.
Ford, previously convicted in 2019 for similar crimes, pleaded not guilty on March 13, 2026, and was denied bail.
The FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office are prosecuting the case.
