E’mory Chiles, 20, gets one more year in prison for hiding a shank in jail, totaling at least seven years.

A 20-year-old Wellsville man, E’mory Nazay Chiles, received an additional one-year prison term for possessing a metal shank while incarcerated, bringing his total sentence to at least seven years. The charge, related to an incident on July 25, 2025, was part of a plea deal that dropped attempted murder and inducting panic charges. Chiles had previously been sentenced to six years for a 2025 shooting that injured a juvenile near 18th Street Park. Judge Megan Bickerton emphasized the need for rehabilitation and warned him against firearm possession upon release.
