Canada allocates $6M to boost Indigenous tourism through seven community-led projects nationwide.
The federal government has announced $6 million in funding from Budget 2025 to expand Indigenous tourism across Canada, supporting seven community-led projects in Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories.
The investment, unveiled by Minister Rechie Valdez at the Millbrook First Nation, will help develop cultural tourism destinations including the Mi'kmawey Debert Cultural Centre, a thermal spa on Enoch Cree Nation lands, and expanded facilities at Indigenous cultural centres and welcome centres.
The funds aim to grow authentic, sustainable tourism experiences that honor Indigenous cultures, create jobs, and advance economic reconciliation.
