Angola has begun gas production from the Quiluma field, the country’s first non-associated gas project, marking a key milestone in its energy strategy.
Operated by Azule Energy, a 50:50 joint venture between bp and Eni, initial output is 150 million standard cubic feet per day, with plans to increase to 330 million by year-end 2026.
Gas is processed onshore in Soyo and sent to the Angola LNG plant for export and domestic use.
The project, part of the New Gas Consortium, follows earlier production starts from the Agogo and Ndungu fields and supports Angola’s efforts to expand liquefied natural gas exports and diversify its energy mix.
