Air India and Air India Express launched flights from Guwahati’s new Terminal 2, boosting Northeast India’s air connectivity.
Air India and Air India Express have launched all flights from the newly opened Terminal 2 at Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, enhancing air connectivity in Northeast India.
The terminal, designed by architect Nuru Karim and inspired by Assam’s kopou phool, features over 140 metric tonnes of bamboo and won the 2025 International Architecture Award.
Inaugural flights from Delhi and Kolkata were greeted with traditional Assamese fare and cultural honors.
The terminal supports 21 domestic and three international routes, handling over 130 aircraft movements daily, and is part of a broader network managed by AAHL.
