At the BCCI Annual Awards, Sanju Samson shared a humorous story about 14-year-old cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s pre-IPL debut conversation with coach Rahul Dravid, where Sooryavanshi said he’d “smash” the first ball he faced.
The young batter went on to score 252 runs in seven matches with a 206.56 strike rate, including a 101 off 38 balls.
The event also honored veterans Dravid, Roger Binny, and Mithali Raj with the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.
