Uttarakhand's CM promoted yoga and announced health and tourism plans at the 2026 International Yoga Festival.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the 2026 International Yoga Festival in Tehri, promoting yoga as a holistic lifestyle and highlighting the state’s Yoga Policy 2025.
He announced plans for 50-bed and 10-bed AYUSH hospitals in every district, a Rs 10 crore fund for yoga and spirituality, and the launch of the Khoj Yojana to improve rural tourism access.
Dhami emphasized yoga’s global reach, tracing it to Prime Minister Modi’s 2014 UN proposal that established International Yoga Day, now celebrated in over 180 countries.
He praised Uttarakhand’s spiritual legacy, its 300 Ayushman Arogya Centres, eSanjeevani AYUSH teleconsultations, and plans for Spiritual Economic Zones in Garhwal and Kumaon.
The week-long festival included yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, and the Run for Yoga event.
