Phillis Fugah was sentenced to 10 years in prison for an armed carjacking and shooting in Pennsylvania that endangered a child.
Phillis Fugah, 25, of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 10 years and one day in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release for an armed carjacking and shooting on August 29, 2024.
She and a male accomplice targeted a Honda Pilot on West Chester Pike where a man was with his two young children.
After the accomplice took the vehicle and pointed a gun at the victim, Fugah fled with the SUV while the victim tried to stop her, noting his infant child remained inside.
Fugah fired a shot that struck the driver’s-side window and hit the victim’s baseball cap, narrowly missing his head; a bullet fragment hit a SEPTA bus across the street.
The vehicle was later found nearby.
The case was investigated by the FBI and Upper Darby police and prosecuted by federal attorneys.
