Israel plans to deploy an international stabilization force in Gaza starting May 1, 2026, as part of a postwar initiative linked to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan and backed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
The force, expected to include around 5,000 Indonesian troops and smaller contingents from Kazakhstan, Morocco, Albania, and Kosovo, will initially operate in Rafah near a UAE-supported Palestinian city.
Military delegations will conduct reconnaissance in Israel within two weeks, and hundreds of troops will train in Jordan before deployment.
The mission will focus on security, disarming armed groups, and enabling humanitarian aid and reconstruction.
It follows a ceasefire that began October 10, 2025, after a two-year conflict that caused massive destruction and over 72,000 Palestinian deaths.
Indonesia has warned it may withdraw from the Board of Peace if Palestinian independence is not pursued.
