On March 16, 2026, India’s Attorney General R. Venkataramani called for a national plea bargaining framework and a Legal Health Index to improve justice system efficiency during a seminar on "Delivering Justice in Time."
He urged a standardized protocol, a National Institute for Criminal Justice Administration, and greater involvement of law schools and communities in reform efforts.
