The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is urging 11.28 lakh delinquent property taxpayers to settle pending dues by March 31, 2026, under a One-Time Settlement scheme offering a 90% interest rebate. As of March 15, 2.67 lakh taxpayers have used the scheme, paying ₹323 crore and receiving a ₹52.08 crore interest waiver. Property tax collections reached ₹2,186 crore in the current fiscal year, falling short of the ₹6,387 crore net demand after the interest waiver. The civic body is promoting compliance through online payments via MeeSeva, its website, Citizen Service Centres, and the MyGHMC app, along with awareness campaigns on radio, TV, social media, and in theaters. Officials warn of strict legal action under the GHMC Act for non-compliance.
