Comedian Russell Kane stars in a modern *Romeo and Juliet* at Newcastle-under-Lyme’s New Vic Theatre, September 17–October 10, 2026.

Comedian Russell Kane will make his stage acting debut in a reimagined *Romeo and Juliet* at Newcastle-under-Lyme’s New Vic Theatre, playing a 40-something Romeo in a bold, modern take on Shakespeare’s tragedy. Directed by Jimmy Fairhurst and part of the theatre’s 40th anniversary season, the production runs September 17 to October 10, 2026, in a theatre-in-the-round format. The season also includes the stage premiere of a play about pottery workers’ “Curl Friday” tradition and a revival of the 2014 holiday favorite *The Borrowers*, with tickets going on sale March 25.
