Bradford man ordered to repay £123K after fraudulently obtaining £100K in pandemic loans.
Shohid Ahmed, a Bradford man, has been ordered to repay £123,000 plus £6,000 in costs after being jailed for two years in 2025 for fraudulently obtaining £100,000 in Bounce Back Loans during the pandemic.
He used his wife’s name and falsified documents, including a fake director and non-existent renovation invoice, to secure the loans, claiming funds were for business refurbishments despite the company having ceased trading.
Only £15,000 was repaid.
A court in March 2026 issued a confiscation order requiring full repayment within three months or face an additional 15 months in prison.
Ahmed was also disqualified as a company director for 11 years.
The Insolvency Service stressed that prison time does not end financial accountability for fraudsters.
