Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will unveil a 58-foot bronze statue of freedom fighter Potti Sriramulu in Amaravati on March 16, 2026, to mark the 125th anniversary of his birth.
The statue, located at Shakhamuru Park, was built in six months using 26 tonnes of bronze and 42 tonnes of iron at a cost of ₹150 crore.
The first phase of the memorial project, covering 6.80 acres, has been completed, with plans for a second phase including a museum, auditorium, and skill development center.
The event honors Sriramulu’s 58-day hunger strike that helped create Andhra State.
Later that evening, Naidu will attend a government-organized Iftar dinner in Vijayawada to greet the Muslim community during Ramzan.
