87-year-old Peter Murray approved for extradition to Scotland over alleged 1960s–70s abuse of 17 boys at Catholic schools.
Peter Murray, 87, a retired teacher from Wetaskiwin, has been approved for extradition to Scotland over allegations he sexually and physically abused at least 17 boys at two Catholic boarding schools in the 1960s and 1970s.
Known as “Brother Peter,” he denies the claims, citing an alibi of studying at Cambridge University and arguing authorities may have the wrong man.
Despite his denials, a Canadian court found sufficient evidence for extradition, stating a jury could reasonably conclude he is the accused.
Murray remains on bail while appealing the decision.
