Two Idaho women survived a snowstorm in Montana after being rescued following a multi-day hike.
Two women from Idaho, aged 50 and 82, were rescued by Lewis & Clark County Search and Rescue after being stranded in a snowstorm near Granite Peak, Montana, on Friday evening.
They had begun a hike on Tuesday and were caught in severe winter weather, with limited supplies and dwindling cell phone power, leading them to turn off their devices.
A family rescue attempt failed when two snowmobiles and a vehicle were lost in the storm.
The women were found safe late Friday night and transported to safety without injuries.
No other injuries were reported, and the family members involved are accounted for.
