Twenty-five foreign direct investment companies have launched operations in Brunei, generating around 4,000 jobs, with nearly half filled by Bruneian citizens, according to Minister Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah.
He highlighted the role of FDI in driving employment and economic growth during a March 15, 2026, Legislative Council meeting.
Additionally, 18 more FDI projects are underway, expected to create about 3,000 jobs by 2029 across sectors like oil and gas, food production, business services, tourism, and tech.
The government sees these efforts as key to advancing Brunei’s economic competitiveness and long-term growth under Brunei Vision 2035.
