A Rochester man with a prior criminal record has been charged after fleeing police during a search warrant execution on Tuesday, striking two patrol vehicles and crashing into an apartment building, causing over $1,000 in damage. Officers ordered him out of the car, but he did not comply and was seen swallowing something before being removed; he claimed it was candy. During a search, authorities found a buprenorphine pill and 0.3 grams of methamphetamine. He has prior felony convictions including fleeing, stalking, drug possession, and burglary. The man posted bond and is due back in court next month.
