Ahmed, who captained Pakistan in 100 international matches, led the team to a record 11 consecutive T20I series wins and the No.1 T20I ranking.
His most notable achievement was guiding Pakistan to victory in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, defeating India by 180 runs in the final.
He remains the only Pakistani captain to win ICC titles at both junior (2006 U19 World Cup) and senior levels.
Over 54 Tests, 117 ODIs, and 61 T20Is, Ahmed scored 6,164 runs with six centuries, took 315 catches, and made 56 stumpings.
He was recognized with the Pride of Performance in 2018 and has since transitioned into mentoring roles with Pakistan’s youth teams.
