Jamie Lee Curtis revealed she didn’t know the 2018 Halloween reboot would become a trilogy when she agreed to return as Laurie Strode, originally portraying the character in the 1978 film.
Speaking at a SXSW panel, she said she would have likely declined had she known, citing concerns over the low-budget, cost-conscious model of Blumhouse Productions.
Despite her initial surprise, she embraced the role, using her commitment to two sequels as leverage to secure a development deal and launch her own production company, Comet Pictures.
She also discussed her ongoing work on adapting her 2023 graphic novel "Mother Nature" into a film, with a longtime collaborator set to direct the project.
