Jake Skillings of Thornton Academy was named the 2026 Travis Roy Award winner, Maine’s top high school hockey honor, after leading Class A in scoring with 21 goals and 28 assists.
He helped Thornton Academy win its second straight state championship and was recognized for his leadership and sportsmanship.
The award, named after former Boston University player Travis Roy, honors both athletic excellence and character.
Skillings, the third player from Thornton Academy to win the award, cited Roy’s resilience and the memory of his late 18U coach, Jake Brown, as inspiration.
The award was presented at the Augusta Civic Center.
