flag India launches first phygital hub in Madhya Pradesh, offering rural residents digital access to healthcare, education, agriculture, and government services via high-speed broadband and public Wi-Fi.

India has launched its first integrated phygital service centre, the Samriddhi Kendra, in Umri village, Madhya Pradesh, under the Department of Telecommunications’ pilot initiative. Inaugurated by Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, the centre offers a one-stop platform for healthcare, education, agriculture, financial services, and e-governance, powered by BharatNet’s high-speed broadband and PM-WANI public Wi-Fi. Farmers gain real-time soil and crop insights, while residents access on-site diagnostics and tele-consultations with doctors, including blood test results in under 30 minutes. The initiative aims to enhance rural livelihoods by enabling local access to digital services, marking a key step in India’s push for inclusive digital development.
