Incredibolt won the $500,000 Virginia Derby at Colonial Downs on March 14, finishing 1:47.76 for 1 1/8 miles and earning 50 Kentucky Derby qualifying points, tying Paladin at 60 points for the lead. The 3-year-old colt, ridden by Jaime Torres, surged from midpack to win by four lengths, overcoming a prior poor showing. Grittiness, Confessional, Buetane, and Lockstocknpharoah placed second through fifth, all earning points. Trainer Riley Mott praised the horse’s strength, and the win held emotional weight following the death of Pin Oak Stud’s founder. The top 20 in points qualify for the May 2 Kentucky Derby.
