A hiker was rescued from Skiddaw after suffering cramps and cold stress, with a 1-hour, 43-minute operation by the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team.
A lone walker was rescued from Skiddaw in the Lake District on March 10 after reporting severe muscle cramps and cold-related distress on Jenkin Hill around 6 p.m. Due to slippery terrain and harsh weather, he was unable to continue and was advised to move slowly downhill.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team responded, deploying 14 members who located him on the fellside and provided physical support to guide him to safety.
After being transported to a rescue vehicle for rewarming and medical evaluation, he was taken to Keswick and released.
The operation lasted 1 hour and 43 minutes, underscoring the dangers of hiking in difficult conditions and the importance of preparation and timely assistance.
