A Chinese official from Guangxi has called for faster, more flexible visas for Southeast Asian patients, especially from Vietnam, to improve cross-border medical access.
Sui Guohua, a regional government vice-chair and national political adviser, urged streamlined visa processes, fast-track arrivals, and extensions based on treatment plans.
She highlighted growing medical cooperation, including the “Life Express 1369” rescue route and the new China-ASEAN Healthcare Center in Nanning, noting over 53,000 Vietnamese outpatient visits and 6,000 hospital admissions in Guangxi from 2021 to 2025.
She also recommended standardized services like overseas insurance integration and transparent pricing for international patients.
