Eight students with special educational needs and disabilities from across England competed in the third annual Springboard SEND FutureChef Competition on March 11, creating chicken-based main courses and chocolate desserts under budget and time constraints.
Louis from Boveridge College won with a Somerset chicken dish and chilli chocolate fondant, while others, including Leah from Bloxham Grove Academy, showcased their culinary skills.
The event, held at the Miele Experience Centre in Abingdon and supported by Sodexo and Springboard UK, aimed to build confidence, creativity, and life skills while promoting inclusivity in hospitality careers.
