Senior Congress leader Trichy Velusamy said his party’s alliance with Tamil Nadu’s ruling DMK is not permanent and could end, stressing that political partnerships should serve the public, not just preserve power.
Ahead of the state assembly elections, he criticized the government’s response to a child abuse case in Krishnagiri, calling the act “barbaric” and condemning the arrest of a DMK Youth Wing leader as disrespectful to justice.
He also confirmed the CBI has questioned TVK chief Vijay over the Karur stampede, rejecting misinformation and vowing cooperation.
Velusamy, claiming to be one of the most senior active Congress leaders in Tamil Nadu, said the current government has failed to ensure public safety and should not remain in power, expressing regret that Congress leadership has not acted on these concerns.
